While browsing internet in search for dating news I found one interesting article called " Let's speak about cheating ". Some interesting thoughts could be read there but the most interesting part for me was Steve Penner's review on AshleMadison.com website. I decided to copy his review to Welcometodating.com. Sure it sounds like another bought article but anyway one more point of view could be interested for my audience.
AshleyMadison.com Review by Steve Penner....And that brings me to a discussion of a company called "AshleyMadison.com," which labels itself "The World's Premier Discreet Dating Service" (with "discreet" being the operative word). You see this company flagrantly states that it is a dating service for people who want to cheat on their partners. One of their slogans is "Monogamy is monotonous," another is "Life is short. Have an affair."
Is Ashley Madison just another seedy Internet site? Well, it has been featured on such television programs as "Larry King," "Ellen," "Dr. Phil," and "20/20" and claims to have 2,075,000 members since its inception in 2001.
Frankly I doubt that latter figure, but I recognize that it is a company that seems to be growing in popularity and apparently is filling a niche of sorts.
When I first heard of Ashley Madison, I quickly assumed that its membership would consist entirely of married men, but they could not have stayed in business for seven years if only men joined. And, as Carrie pointed out, women cheat too. In fact on the site's "FAQ" page they state that their male to female ratio is about 8.5 men for every 1.5 women.
One of their many defenses or rationalizations is that a company such as theirs keeps married men and women away from the problems they might incur by visiting prostitutes, who are members of "the world's oldest profession." They also cite various scientific "studies" that show that cheating is common among all species of the animal kingdom. Yes, apparently even swans, which I have always heard mate for life, also cheat on their mates.
In no way am I advocating this Web site or cheating. My main concern is that I believe that cheating is something that is never dealt with in a relationship until after the fact. About The Ashley Madison Agency: The Ashley Madison Agency (www.ashleymadison.com) is the worlds largest online Social Networking Community of its kind that caters to people who are already in relationships but still want to date.
