DateHookup.com launched in July of 2002. DateHookup.com is absolutely free to join and use and it is true. According to many dating industry researches this website included into top5 free dating website worldwide and I think that they deserved to be there.
As I already said Datehookup is one of the oldest free dating websites and sure its brand known. But unfortunately site traffic is 5-6 times lower than at PlentyOfFish dating website which is largest and most popular in US and Canada. I would say that DateHookup brand name is not so popular because they don't run any PR-campaigns in the press and don't buy advertising as some other free dating websites do. They depend on search engine traffic and word-advertising. These types of advertising are effective but unfortunately don't increase brand status.

There is no official numbers posted regarding DateHookUp members but I tried to investigate deeper and found some
interesting stats . According to this data Datehookup have around 1.5 million unique visits monthly. It is around 50.000 unique visits per day. Ative members database should be lower because at least 5000-1000 thousands of daily visits are new visitors. All others visits are active members who login to their dating profiles. I think that DateHookUp have around 30.000 active members. It is really great numbers sure the best in the dating industry but for average dating website it is good achievement.

DateHookup Profile Quality Review
Profile quality and designs are always a problems on free dating websites. Datehookup.com would be one of the best dating website by this criteria in their niche if they would disallow users to change colors for their profiles. They have perfect default layout and color palitte they have good accurate design with no disadvantage but when members take control over their profile it looks flustrating. Profiles are very informative and informational quality is really good but some profiles are impossible to read because of bad colors. At least I hate when blue text is written on red background, or white letters on gray background..Site owners should make something to avoid MySpace style on their well designed dating website.
Scam on DateHookup.com
For sure free dating website would not run any scam protection system to make their safe. It costs money and free dating sites don't have budget for this. But Datehookup owners tried to decrease scam chances by removing scam-countries from they country list. So visitors from Russia, Ghana can't register with their country name but can create profile and write another country. At least I registered there as US citizen but I live in Europe. However I did not find any scam reports on DateHookup.com on the net.

The site offers all the features you would expect from a free online dating site: profile customizing (what I dislike here), forums, blog, dating tips and friend system. Site is not overloaded with blinking features which are not popular or actual for free dating websites. Datehookup have most used features which have demand on free dating websites.

First of all I would say that this is first free dating website which carries about site design and navigation. It has very simple and easy to use interface what attracts new members. Even if you are new to online dating you would not experience any problems here. Members photos are accurate and looks like they are pre-moderated (what usually is missing on other free dating sites). Sure another good point is that DateHookUp is 100% free to use. You really don't need to pay for using their service. They survive from selling advertising space on their site. Comparing to other dating sites their features are not so modern but all of them are well working and it is easy to use them. Also I liked their language style, site languange is very simple and friendly without official notes. You will never feel yourself uncomfortable with this website.

There is only seriuos disavantage on DateHookUp.com. It is costumized members profiles. Website should have one design on all pages and when you browse profiles and every profile have own design it is impossible to concetrate and read members profile. DateHookUp.com have good default profile page and I like it but not when members edit them. If it is not a trouble for you than you will enjoy this website.
