Wanadoo creates UK dating channel with Match.com
Match.com did one more step to their monopoly in online dating business. Now they signed a deal with UK internet provider Wanadoo company. Sure it is better for UK singles but not for UK local dating sites in our opinion because it is very difficult to fight with such monster like Match.com.
Match.com and its sister company Udate.com will provide content for the Wanadoo Dating Channel where UK daters can search for singles through co-branded sites.
Match.com and Udate.com will be the only online dating sites to feature on the channel and will provide editorial on dating and relationships as part of the launch. The new content will sit alongside Wanadoo's own dating editorial, provided by relationship expert Dr Pam Spurr.
The deal is an extension of an ongoing patnership between Match.com and Wanadoo in Spain.
Samantha Bedford, UK managing director of Match.com and Udate.com, said: "We are providing Wanadoo users with access to more than 3.2m singles in the UK. Our 10 years' experience in online dating combined with Wanadoo's huge audience should make for a successful partnership."
The news follows the exclusive six-figure deal this month between online dating agency DatingDirect.com and Associated Newspapers' online arm, Associated New Media.
DatingDirect.com will provide white-labelled dating services to readers of the Daily Mail online and the Evening Standard site.
