Normally, it is perceived that men are the ones who should call after the first date. If the guy does not have any interest in you it is very much expected that there will be no calls made. However, if a guy saw a little spark in your date or finds the woman very attractive, a call will be made sooner or later. Women don’t really know what things go on in a man's head and this is why women are so confused and anxious after the first date. It is said that when the guy calls the night after the date or the day after, he is too nice or eager for the next date. Although it is a nice idea since it is somehow assuring a second date idea, this might lower the attraction level of the woman. The best time to call a woman is after three days or if you've already thought of a new date. This will build up the excitement and anxiety. Once the man calls the woman, she will be so happy since that can end her torture of thinking. It really depends on the guy if he opts to tell the woman how he feels or what his interest are. Keep in mind that you have to come across that you have planned something for both of you and show genuine interests. And don't wait for the woman to call; this is not classy at all.
    
On the other hand, it is a totally different experience for the woman. Women tend to think more and have all unanswerable questions in their heads. And most of these questions will be answered with the guy's call. Not to boost the man's ego but women not just think of the call but if they still want to go out with the person if he calls. However, if the woman is really interested she will wait for the call and will be more than happy to go on a date. Women, don't expect your man to call as soon as possible. He also does his own thinking and he may be busy. Don't jump into conclusions; the person might be having some problems. So, the big question is "Should I call him?" This question is really hard to answer. If you do, the guy might think you are so into him but if you don't, you might loose him forever. The best thing is to give your man time to call. If he hasn't for like a week, and if you really really like the guy, then go ahead and give him a call. There's really nothing wrong with it especially if you will get your answers.

Another very important advice is to keep your promises because if you said that you will call soon and you did not this will annoy your first date partner. If you say you'll call, please do so not depending if there will be a second date or not. The key is to be honest and not let the other person keep their hopes up. Just be real with each other and there will be no hurt feelings after.
