What Questions To Ask On A First Date? PDF Print E-mail
Questions to ask on a first dateMost people before going to a first think what questions to ask during it. They usually don't know what to talk about or the right questions to ask. It is very important to ask the right questions because the answers you will get will help you know the person better. From his/her answers you can also see if you'd still want a second date with that person. However, if you ask the wrong questions, your date might get offended and cut the date short. So, knowing what to ask and when to ask is crucial. Here are some tips on what questions you can ask on your first date.
If you plan to pick up your date, then your conversation will start in the car or in a cab. In this situation, you should just ask basic questions. Asking some information about your date would be nice start, like "Where did you go to school or college?" "What are you taking up?" or "Is she studying or working now?", these are just questions to get the ball rolling.

Keep asking questions like this through out your trip, even she will ask basic questions to you. Now, you probably already have a plan on what to do for the date. When you've reached your destination, most often that not, the venue or the activity you will do will be the start of your next conversation. For example, you brought to her to a restaurant, you can ask "What's your favorite food?", "What's your favorite restaurant?" and etc. Asking about someone's favorites will never get you wrong because at some point in the questioning and answering, you'll find something common and that will make your conversation easier. You can also ask, "What’s your favorite movie?" "What type of music do you like and who is your favorite artist?," "Among the place you've gone to, what do you like the best and why?" Surely, your date will answer your questions honestly and with eagerness if you show that you are truly interested. The key is to have a balanced conversation. Both of you should listen to one another.

Now, if you see that you have got your date in the mood for some deeper questions, then go ahead. Just make sure that these questions are not about the story of your date's life. Asking about a past relationship and telling stories about it is a big no-no. Your date might think that you are still not over your last relationship. Questions like, "What do you look for in a guy?", and “What's your most memorable moment?" such questions show you how the person is really is and what your date is about. Probe for more answers about his/her perspective or views in life since this can help you determine if you're willing to have a serious relationship with this person. However, be careful not to get things too deep, since this might stir up unwanted emotions.

Making a conversation is not that hard anymore when you ask the right and appropriate questions. Make sure you know why you ask and know the answer in the first place before you go yapping away with silly questions. It is important that you show your genuine interest to your date. And, always listen to what your date has to say.
