The poll which was organized in Canada by Ipsos Reid found that 16 per cent of Canadians had found love online. As usual younger persons were had more success. More than a quarter of respondents (25% against 16%) aged 18-34 had been successful in seeking a mate via the web. Older persons (over 55 years old) were less active - only 7% had started a relationship online.
Plentyoffish is a top dating website in Canada with more than 10 million members. He sees more than 700,000 hits each day and says the site is responsible for starting 800,000 relationships each year. Markus Frind (CEO of plentyoffish.com) says the average age of a member on his site is 37.
