90% Users Lie in Their Dating Profiles PDF Print E-mail
What people lie in dating their dating profilesWell writed dating profile is most important part of your success when using dating site. Unfortunately  you can't fully trust other dating profiles because as some survey showed more than 90 percent of people lie in their online dating profiles. Women usually deduct anywhere from five to twenty pounds from their weight, while men tend to lie about income, education level and, of course, relationship status.

Sure you can't be sure if your friend lies until you will see him on the date. But here are most common phrases you should be aware of when looking for love on the net. Usually people use such prahases in their dating profiles and you take them as true facts. This article's goal is to teach you to understand those phrases in different way. If you will read dating profiles with some of fun and caution it will be much easier for you to accept the true.
‘I’m looking slim and petite’
Translation: ‘I was slim and petite 15 years ago. I haven’t accepted the fact that I’m no longer thin and I know that potential dates won’t accept it either.’

So don’t accept everything you hear about how good looking the person is at first instance.  Photos published in dating profile also could be old and don't show the true body type.

 ‘I’m tall, dark and handsome.’
Translation: ‘I’m average in height, looks and style. Nothing more, nothing less.’

Many men lie about their height online (usually by increasing it) and about 39 percent of women do the same. So if you’re expecting someone tall, dark and handsome, think again.

‘My interests include good wine, music and fine dining.’
Translation: ‘I like to impress you with the good life.’

Take your guess to another level and quiz him about wine sorts, favourite artists, their albums and culture and you’ll know the true.

‘I’m sensitive, smart and funny.’
Translation: 'I think that I am smart, funny and sensitive"

Unfortunately only small percent of people can accept that they are not smart, that they think only about their interests. Such phrases are very common but often it's not true.

‘I make more than 250,000 per year.’
Translation: ‘I have grandiose, elaborate fantasies of eventually winning the lottery or striking gold with an online scheme but for now, to make ends meet, I’m your friendly neighbourhood manager at a mall.’

Annual income is a sign of stability. Men like to show their money to attract women and often they lie about their real income or hide their credits payout sums.

‘I can’t wait to meet you.”
Translation: ‘I like your photo and want to meet you’

Online dating is not verbal and often online daters make conclusion about person only by exchanging few emails and browsing some photos. Real life is different from online world and usually people want to meet person on the photo who emailed them for one week. But when they meet they simply can't find common language or even recognize each other on the date place.

‘I just got out of a long relationship, so I’m mainly looking for friends right now.’
Translation: ‘Having just escaped a bitter, years long romantic battle, I can’t wait for a casual fling now, to help me temporarily forget my misery.’

After break-out people emotionally are not ready for new relationship. But physically they need another sex partner to overcome their past problems. They call it "I need new friend" but often this friend could become a sex partner for short period of time.

‘As the CEO of a successful Internet startup, I enjoy the finer things in life.’
Translation: ‘As the founder of a barely-there mail order business, I enjoy spending every second of my time on the Internet’

Succesful CEO don't need online dating service because he have many meetings with interesting people, he is socially active and will never use online dating service to find a date. When you have money you have friends, sex partners or family.

Bottom Line

Information and self-descirptions in dating profiles is not a 100% true. Often people lie unintentional, sometimes change small details which could be really important for you. It's hard to find one way how to understand which dating profile is full of lie and which is true. But main tip would be not accept all information as true. You should be ready to see another picture of your online friend when you meet him offline. If you stay flexible for those surprise you chances to create new relationship will be higher.
